Busy Times

woad-festWell, I had a really good time at Festival of Quilts, but since then I have been exceptionally busy. At the moment I am heavily involved in The Blue Mill Project which is a Heritage Lottery Funded Project focused on the history of the woad industry in Lincolnshire and is based at Moulton Windmill. This weekend has been a Woad Festival at the windmill and has been very well attended. There will be further events coming up which will be posted on The Blue Mill Project website.

Another exciting thing I have coming up is that I will be on television this Friday, 23rd October 2015 at 11:10am. I am on Cowboys Builders, but NOT, I should add, as a cowboy builder! The programme will show me with designer, Alison Cork, doing onion skin dyeing at the studio.

magazine

Also, I am currently being featured in Pretty Patches magazine. I actually get four pages all about me, particularly focusing on my interest in natural dyeing. There are quite a few pictures of my work featured. If you have trouble finding it, it is available on the Pretty Patches website (there is also a digital version available).

Just a reminder that there is now a shop on the website. At the time of writing there isn’t much on it, but I plan to expand it gradually, so it would be worth checking back to see what’s new – newsletter subscribers will be kept up threadsto date with new shop items. So far the shop features my kantha book and two of my kantha kits. Over time I will be adding more kits, another book and threads. I am awaiting a new order of Valdani threads which I will be adding to the shop when they arrive.

Just one more thing, if you live in the west of the country, I am at the West Country Quilt Show in Bristol on 12th, 13th and 14th November. I will be having a booth and will be teaching. On the Thursday and Saturday I will be holding some drop-in sit and stitch sessions. On Friday I am teaching two half day workshops, Big Stitch Quilting by Hand Using Valdani No. 12 Perle Cotton Threads, and a Kantha Cushion Front Using Vintage Linens. If you want to book onto these you can find out more information here.

Anyway, I actually have a day off on Monday! Yay!
